Investment philosophy
VELA ENERGY invests using equity capital, if necessary, it attracts financing from trusted partners among international financial institutions, which allows us to invest with a long-term perspective.
The nature of our capital allows us to focus solely on identifying the best ideas, allocate sufficient time and resources to conduct thorough due diligence, and respond quickly to opportunities that arise.
In the selection process, we primarily pay attention to predictable cash flows, assets with a reliable operating history and positive performance characteristics, a conservative regulatory and capital structure.

Currently VELA ENERGY is investing in projects in the field of exploration and production of natural resources in the territory of the Russian Federation.

Energy is changing. Reliable and affordable energy is critical to growth and prosperity. The global energy transition is taking shape and renewable energy sources are firmly embedded in the energy mix.
We strongly believe that natural gas will continue to play an important role as an efficient and flexible source of heat and energy both in Russia and around the world. As the cleanest conventional fuel, natural gas can make a significant contribution to achieving ambitious emission reduction targets, for example, by switching power generation from coal and petroleum products to natural gas. Also, natural gas in the form of CNG and LNG has the potential for its use as a fuel for sea and road transport, for gas supply to remote areas and has significant environmental advantages compared to fuel from petroleum products.
With our investments in gas infrastructure, we confirm our position on the future of natural gas.
The company has a particular interest in researching and developing new sources of green energy solutions.
Natural resources
Continued economic growth and population growth are driving energy demand.
Through our investments, we strive to create positive economic impact and long-term value for our shareholders and the projects in which we invest.
We also see investments in natural resources and establishing the commercially viable reserves, in particular, as an effective portfolio diversification, protection against inflationary risks and an additional safety measure.
SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainability
Many of those policies will target the commodity and industrial sector. In future production, CO2 emission will be given a negative value and the carbon footprint will become an economic differentiator.
In our industrial investments we strategically choose solutions that offer pathways to CO2 abatement, for example in form of carbon free or at least less carbon intensive technologies (“green” technologies) and carbon capture (in form of CCS or CCU) for existing technological solutions.
